Omega Speedmaster Reference 145.022

Omega Speedmaster Reference 145.022

$4,500.00

In 1969, Omega introduced a new generation Speedmaster. This slightly revamped chronograph wristwatch featured a caliber 861 mechanical movement and a caseback engraving which read "FLIGHT QUALIFIED BY NASA FOR ALL MANNED SPACE MISSIONS, THE FIRST WATCH WORN ON THE MOON." For over two decades, Omega would continue to use a caliber 861 in all of their 145.022 Speedmasters--until the introduction of the reference 3570.

This particular example is the earliest 145.022, dating back to 1969. A white gold filled "jubilee"-like bracelet is the rarest attribute of this Speedmaster--giving it a unique aesthetic. The dial is gloss and matches the teal bezel quite well. The steel case is unpolished with sharp, thick lugs.
